Faith in the Motherly Protection and the Singular Power of God’s Mother

Sr. Virgina Seabert, SCC wrote the preface for THE WOMAN IN ORBIT in which she commented: “In a number of these stories, fact is mingled with legend and fancy; yet the predominant theme in each is the same, namely, a simple faith in the motherly protection and the singular power of God’s Mother. ... Devotion to Mother, Our Lady of Guadalupe. The Why

Starting from where I was baptized, my devotion to Mother could have been to any of these titles of hers: Our Lady of Visitation, Our Lady Consolata, The Miraculous Medal [the Medal of Our Lady of Graces or the Medal of the Immaculate Conception], Our Lady of Mount Carmel [Scapula], Our Lady of Good Counsel [given the current crisis in the Church], etc. Others, even having come across them at home [family or parish], never struck a chord with me, e.g. Our Lady of Perpetual Help, which has very poignant yet tender story between Mother and the young Child Jesus behind it.

"La Madonnina," also known as "Madonna of the Streets" or "Madonna del Riposo," the famous painting by Roberto Ferruzzi also, which is very special to me because a framed copy of it accompanied me from when I first left my home country to work abroad, could have been a no-brainer, or now, that Heaven has made known to me the Marian Calendar, I could have now switched to any of her titles that appeal to me. Why was it then and now, that Our lady of Guadalupe is to be Mother?

My work abroad took me to Maui, Hawai'i and Maria Lanakila ["Victorious Mary" or "Our Lady of Victory" in Hawaiian. Another epithet for the Virgin Mary that I could have been devoted to], was my parish. Colleagues at work, if I recall correctly, two Mexican sisters and their brother, invited me to "Las Mañanitas a la Virgen de Guadalupe," well, I fell in Love and as the saying goes, the rest is history.

"Coatlaxopeuh", which is translated as "she who crushes the serpent"

There is another reason as well. I have this thing about authenticity and originality. For example, if a song or a movie is a remake of another, I generally must look into the original from which the remake was taken from and, believe it or not, I generally end up liking the original over the remake or copied version, no matter how good the critics rave about the remake or copy or no matter its commercial success. One example if I may offer, "Mbube" by Solomon Linda over The Tokens, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," even though I knew of the latter first and really liked it.

Sancta Maria, Regina Caelorum, Mater Domini Nostri Iesus Christi, et Mundi Domina[n1], appeared to St Juan Diego as Our Lady of Guadalupe and left an image of herself on his cloak (tilmahtli or tilma), which is now enshrined in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. To me, why would any other image do, even though she has other numerous appealing and approved titles as well? This is my reasoning but Heaven has their reason as well as to why this was their chosen devotion for me. Some scholars propose a Nahuatl origin for the name "Guadalupe", suggesting the name could be a Spanish rendering of "coatlaxopeuh", which is translated as "she who crushes the serpent". The moment has come for Mother's decisive victory over that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, and Mother, Our Lady of Guadalupe, has condescended in choosing me to be involved in a special role.

Heaven Came, Sat Me at Table with Them, Served Me, and Ate with Me

After the Las Mañanitas a la Virgen de Guadalupe and Mass for The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, I headed to the Reception in Loyola Hall (Cf. IMG 1). I was by myself. I entered the Hall and to my right were perhaps a couple of tables with people behind them. I can't recall what was on them or what the people behind them were there for. There was a line of people alongside the tables. I soon realized that people were being seated in family groups. The line moved along and as I got to the end of the tables Ms Gloria was just emerging from a door to my right from where I believe food was being served from. She was carrying food to be served. I told her I was alone. She told me to wait and then she proceeded to place food on her table and then came to fetch me. She moved her things from where I eventually sat (cf. IMG 2) to where she was now to sit, to my left. Then she got me soup. [This is how Mother is recalling things to me now. Please compare them to my notes in [n2] that they made available after this post was substantially complete. I couldn't find them initially.] I had gotten coffee for myself from Mr José (IMG 4) and Pan Dulce from Ms Alice[Alicia] & Ms Criste (IMG 5). Since I had been of recent a recipient of heavenly visitations, I suspected this was another one of them. Usually I am quite comfortable with them and our interactions and conversations flow naturally. This time around when I suspected Gloria was Mother, - Gloria is not a name I previously knew was associated with her[n2] - I was very nervous and afraid to sit next to the Mother of Christ, God, because of 'not walking in the Light' during a fairly recent revelation by Heaven regarding as to why I had the inspiration to leave my home country with La Madonnina[n3].

We had a very good meal but the gentleman to my right never said a word to me. Despite my nervousness, Ms Gloria and I chatted very simply and naturally. Towards the end, the mariachi band came to serenade Bp Cantu's table and one of the songs they played was 'dos arbolitos', which Ms Gloria said was her favorite song[n2].

I have never seen these People again at San Carlos Cathedral, except for seeing Ms Gloria on Sunday, December 15, 2025, in the Church vestibule [IMG 8], where we waved to each other, though she appeared to have a look of worry for me on her face. Soon after, I relocated to Gilroy, where an attempt was made on my life[n5].

On Saturday, July 5, 2025 morning, Heaven wanted me to make known that at least Mother, Maria de Gloria, St Joseph [José], her most chaste Spouse, celebrating and hosting her Feast at the Cathedral Basilica of St Joseph in San José, St Michael the ArchAngel [the gentleman who never said a word to me]; Princess St Catherine of Alexandria [Criste] and Mama Kimberly [Alice (Alicia)], were the Heavenly visitations who invited me to dine at table with them. I know The LORD Jesus Christ was there but then and now, I still don't who He was. This to me is a unique characteristic of both Son & Mother, it is always about the other. Jesus wanted all the spotlight and attention to be on His Mother on her Feast Day. My take is that they are the unique dos arbolitos/the two trees in God's Paradise in the song Ms Gloria likes.

One note in ending. When we had finished eating Ms Gloria, who had been serving, just sat there with her dishes as if waiting for something. Still a little afraid, I hesitated but went ahead and asked her if I could clear her area. She agreed and then asked me if I could get her some coffee from Mr José. I asked her how she wanted it, and she replied, 'black, no sugar'. I also cleared the area of the guy with a cap and mustache and then went to get Ms Gloria her coffee. I made the request to Mr José, who asked out loud, 'who wants coffee?' I repeated Ms Gloria did. Then he said in a jocular manner to those around him, 'Gloria wants her coffee!' Suspecting who they were, I just found this family banter humorous.

I hope this song and anecdote above gives us a wondrous appreciation, together with a deeper and better understanding of the Communion of Saints. We are The LORD Jesus Christ's Mystical Body and BRIDE! We, God’s People, are truly and wonderfully blessed, beyond words!

[n4] When Mother, Our Lady of Guadalupe, herself has given us her own image, why would we substitute it for another which does not even look like her? The source inspiration for this, like in [n2] above, is from below, but ultimately, only bad children can make a caricature of their own mother's image. This is a very special Mother, Sancta Maria Mater Christi, and we are only her sons and daughters in the Son or to the extent that it is not we, but the full maturity of Christ living in us.

On the worst end of the scale, it is such caricatures that the enemy and his worshippers turn into idols. The horror! As I have been shown, these idols abound in plenty in our Churches. One example to offer if I may, the comparison between the common Divine Mercy Image and the original one. Another would be a Crucifix with a Corpus but without a lateral wound in it or with a lateral wound in the left side instead of the right side. The following scriptural passage is soon to be fulfilled:

(RSVCE) Ezekiel 36:25 I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.
