Rome Lives Again
The Apocalypse of St John is about events in his day and also events in the End-Time, foreshadowed by his own time under the Roman Emperors. Therefore, a type of the Roman Empire in his day gets reconstituted in the End-Time.
There is also the use of the code word "Babylon" for Rome.

In Revelation 13, when the First Beast's heads are taken as succession of empires through history, Rome, is the head that received the mortal wound but lives again.
One interpretation of the Beast in Ch 17, the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven, and it goes to perdition, is Emperor Nero returning.
Finally, the 2 witnesses in Ch 11 are killed in the great city, Rome.

Washington, DC is the New Rome
Even before Americans were collecting antiquities, our Founding Fathers sought to recreate the ancient world in America by making Washington, DC a “new Rome” on the Potomac.[a] George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and others not only adopted systems of government and law from the classical (especially Roman) world, they also built a capital city that first echoed ancient Rome and then later Athens in its architecture, sculpture, and painted interiors.
